WEAVE A LEGACY PROGRAMME

This programme follows The Matrix developed by Erenora Puketapu-Hetet and Veranoa Hetet. It is designed to equip the weaver with the skills and knowledge to weave a range of traditional items using the techniques of raranga, taaniko and whatu. (See Programme Content below for details).

There are no written assignments but students are required to provide photographic evidence of their completed work. This must be submitted before access to the next module or course is given.

Student support is provided
via our state-of-the-art community platform where our students post, chat, share their work and organise weaving get-to-togethers. It can be viewed as a website on laptop and desktop and also downloaded as an app to smartphone. Students have free access to our private online community for the duration of the programme.

You will work at your own pace and have access to our virtual classroom and online community 24/7 from wherever you are in the world - with internet access from a mobile, laptop, iPad or desktop device.

Graduation from the Hetet School of Māori Art
requires that a student complete all five modules of The Matrix and demonstrate the values of the school in their weaving and conduct.
All graduates will receive a certificate and be listed on our website. They will also be invited to become a member of Te Roopu Miro and receive free ongoing membership to our community app.
